Rosie Kane (born. 1993) is multimedia artist and Parsons The New School of Design graduate. Kane sources hard news imagery from The New York Times and shines light on the translucent newsprint. Through this approach, a new image is generated via the combination of two unrelated events or even opposing motifs. The effect encourages closer examination of the collisions and interactions of the sandwiched photographs constituent parts. Kane’s imagery deconstructs and dissolves stable and prescribed meaning and proposes open-ended interpretation. Kane’s debut series Bleed Through exhibited at Milk Gallery, New York in May 2016.
